Christmas Hotels UK

Christmas

Christmas is coming… Yes, we know last year’s festivities might still be relatively fresh in the memory, but it’s never too early to start planning a Christmas hotel stay.

There’s something extra special and magical about waking up in a home from home, especially when you’re surrounded by a frosty forest playground. At New Forest Collection, we have a wealth of ideas and packages to celebrate the festive season as well as Christmas parties. You can do as little or as much as you please, with three or four night Christmas breaks available.

Children are welcome, and we have dog friendly options too – when you book, we’ll just need everyone’s names – small people and pets!

Burley at Yuletide

Burley

When it comes to Christmas hotel settings, Burley Manor takes some beating; set in an 800-year-old estate, it epitomises the true beauty of the New Forest – frosty mornings, roaring log fires, great food, drink and company. The halls will be decked with holly and the cellars well stocked with everything you’ll need in terms of locally sourced and seasonal sustenance.

Arrive on Christmas Eve and settle in with some tea (or coffee) and cake after you’ve unpacked and started to properly unwind. The first evening is yours to plan – but let us know if you want a table reservation for dinner. During the late afternoon, join us in the bar for carol signing and a glass of mulled wine to celebrate. The holidays start here…

The next morning, it’s the main event. Has Santa been??

After you’ve opened your presents (assuming you’ve been nice and not naughty!), head downstairs lured by the aromas to a full English breakfast or a Continental option. The rest of the morning is yours to open more presents, get some country air or simply relax, before our traditional, five-course Christmas feast and champagne. You’ll then be glad of a break to read, play a board game, catch the King’s Speech etc. As evening approaches, join us for a light supper and then perhaps our fun evening quiz to get the grey cells working a little?

Boxing Day is one of our favourite days; you’ve got through all the excitement and now can simply unwind with more great food, country walks and ‘me time’. Enjoy another hearty winter’s breakfast before taking your wellies and waggy tails on Burley’s popular treasure hunt. Of course, feel free to stay in and indulge in some more leisurely activities. Whatever you do, make sure you reserve a table for dinner.

If you’re not quite ready to head home on the 27th, that’s not a problem – leave the bags unpacked and spend the day exploring the 350 square miles of New Forest beauty. It’s the gift that keeps giving…

Beautiful Beaulieu

Beaulieu

Beaulieu Inn is the perfect Christmas escape for grown-ups and children alike – a forest playground on your doorstep, with ponies and cattle roaming past your window, it’s a magical setting.

Arrive on Christmas Eve, and after unpacking join us for tea and cake as you start the holidays the right way. Christmas cocktails and canapés await, then it’s a locally-sourced, three-course dinner and mince pies, lovingly prepared by our Christmas brigade. Before you prepare to hang up your stockings for Santa, join us for some parlour games and a nightcap…

Wake up on Christmas morning to a freshly-cooked English or continental breakfast and a buck’s fizz waiting for you to toast to the day. After you’ve opened your presents, take time to relax in the inn’s serene surroundings or head out for a refreshing woodland walk, before joining us for a four-course Christmas day lunch (please note there’s no separate children’s menu, simply half portions served). We’ll be showing Christmas movies in the lounge during the late afternoon (tea, coffee and Christmas cake to accompany), before a relaxed light evening offering of cold and hot dishes from the chef’s table. If you still have the energy, join us for a relaxed evening quiz before you retire to bed.

Boxing Day arrives, and after another cracking breakfast, pull on your wellies and take the furry friends for a stroll around the surrounding forest and heathlands. Of course, you can always just stay back at base and indulgently watch back-to-back Christmas movies before the others return for freshly-made scones and warming tea and coffee.

Whatever you decide, the evening brings a seasonal three-course dinner, finished with coffee and sweet treats. On the 27th, another wonderful breakfast will either send you on your way home or set you up for another day exploring the magical New Forest. With hundreds of square miles, there’s plenty to see and do!

Festive Forest Lodge

Lyndhurst

If you’re looking for a Christmas hotel that has the best of both worlds, then Forest Lodge is it. A stone’s throw from the New Forest’s ‘capital’ Lyndhurst, it’s also blessed with flora and fauna on its doorstep too.

Our Georgian townhouse is the perfect place to celebrate the season – from the warming welcome of tea and cake on arrival to the Christmas cocktail and canapés that begin Christmas Eve in earnest, before indulging in forest life with a locally-sourced, three-course dinner and mince pies. Head to your room early to get rested before the next day’s celebrations, or join us for some traditional parlour games to send you off to bed with a smile.

Christmas Day kicks off with a hearty breakfast (and buck’s fizz) and (hopefully) some presents. Your options are then endless – retreat to your room, stretch your legs or relax in the lounge, before a wonderful traditional, four-course Christmas feast. Spend the afternoon playing board games, watching the King’s Speech and some seasonal telly, before a light supper and festive quiz.

Awake on Boxing Day to another beautiful brekkie, before heading out to explore the local area, packed with rustic charm and historic trails – including Bolton’s Bench, the alleged resting place of the Bisterne Dragon. Of course, if all that sounds too much, then just take more time to relax, watch Christmas films and unwind further. Whatever you decide, the evening table will be set for a seasonal three-course dinner, finished with coffee and sweet treats. The 27th starts with another restorative breakfast, before you either head home or spend your last day exploring the outstanding beauty of the New Forest. A Christmas break that will linger in the memory for many years to come.

Party at Bartley

Cadnam

Set in eight acres of tranquil landscaped grounds, Christmas at Bartley Lodge is a serene escape, oozing grandeur from the moment you pass the cattle grids onto its long and winding driveway. The 18th century, grade II listed building encompasses the best of a traditional New Forest Christmas hotel.

Arrive on Christmas Eve for tea and cake; the evening brings Christmas cocktails and canapes in the bar before a three-course dinner plus coffee/mince pies; children can enjoy half portions of all the same treats as the grown-ups.

Has he been? Wake up on Christmas morning to a hearty breakfast and buck’s fizz, before it’s presents, board games or maybe a breath of fresh air. Lunch is a fabulous four-course festive feast, after which you can either sink into a chair and watch Christmas films over tea and Christmas cake in the lounge, or head out for more country air. The evening brings a light offering from the chef’s table and our popular seasonal quiz.

Boxing Day kicks off with breakfast, of course, before maybe a local walk and lunch somewhere in Lyndhurst. There are more movies in the afternoon, then in the evening the table will be set for a seasonal three-course dinner, finished with coffee and sweet treats.
On December 27th, we’ll send you off home after a hearty breakfast – but if you’re staying an extra night, we can give plenty of suggestions for places to explore across the wonderful New Forest.
