Bartley Lodge
Definitely one for your viewing list is Grade II listed Bartley Lodge. A long woodland drive leads you to the grand country house, setting the scene for some really spectacular photographs.
Versatility is obviously important when you’re organising your wedding, and at Bartley Lodge you’ve got several options to play with as you plan your dream day.
The exquisite and aptly named Crystal Room is perfect for the ceremony itself, or if you’re planning a spring/summer wedding, you might prefer to be outside in the gorgeous walled garden with its rustic wooden arch and ancient oak tree.
There’s room for up to 80 guests to toast you and your sweetheart on the impressive stone terrace, and the 18th century Baronial Hall with its oak panelling and twinkling chandeliers is made for a wedding feast. There’s capacity here to expand to up to 150 friends and family in the evening, to celebrate and enjoy a private bar.
There are some sumptuous suites available if you and your wedding party are choosing to stay overnight, and as newlyweds you should definitely opt for the Charles Lyell suite, with its four-poster, chandelier, and incredible views.
