Festive Forest

Just minutes from Lyndhurst, capital of the New Forest, Forest Lodge is the perfect winter escape – intimate, cosy with a focus on the simple pleasures, New Year’s Eve here is a wonderful blend of cocktails, dancing and dining.

Of course, this time of year is when you reset, revive and rejuvenate too, so there’s plenty of time to wander into the nearby forest or simply squirrel away in an armchair with a good book.
Arrive on December 30th and, after unpacking, there’s tea and cake to help you start to unwind.

That evening, enjoy a locally sourced, seasonal three-course dinner created by the talented kitchen brigade. Afterwards, take your favourite tipple into the lounge, join our evening quiz or hit the hay for a busy stay ahead. New Year’s Eve starts with a hearty breakfast before you head out into the forest for our ‘famous’ treasure hunt drive. After afternoon hot drinks and treats in the lounge, you’ve plenty of time to get your glad rags on before the evening’s shenanigans – canapés and fizz, a four-course feast, dancing – and eventually bed.

Welcome in 2023 with a late breakfast before heading home at your leisure. If you’re staying another night, take in some life-restoring forest air, enjoy freshly prepared scones over some Christmas TV and then a relaxed evening meal of cold and hot dishes from the chef’s table. On January 2nd, it’ll be finally time to bid a sad farewell to your home from home – but not after another great breakfast, of course!

Beautiful Burley

Head to Burley Manor for the ultimate New Year’s Eve house party; celebrate in the magical surroundings of an eight-hundred-year-old estate, with roaring fires, festive feasts, and breathtaking surroundings – sparkling skies and the glistening frosty forest beyond.
There’s the choice of two or three night stays; arrive on December 30th and it’s a cuppa and cake, before the evening offers a seasonal dinner or our famous Mediterranean tapas. You can then retire to recharge your batteries ready for New Year’s Eve, or join us for the evening quiz.

New Year’s Eve starts with breakfast (of course), before the chance to explore the New Forest- whether that’s cycling, walking or running. The evening’s festivities begin with chilled champagne and canapés before indulging in a six-course feast in our charming barn. Yes – six courses…Then there’s dancing (if you wish) before welcoming in 2023 with the chimes of Big Ben.

Make the most of your indulgent beauty sleep and late breakfast on New Year’s Day; some guests will be heading home, but if you are staying, take another opportunity to breathe in the natural forest air and venture outside. The afternoon is all about chilling out, perhaps over one last Christmas movie, before dinner and another great night’s sleep. The next day, enjoy a hearty breakfast before waving au revoir to your new second home. We’re sure you’ll be back soon.

Party at Bartley

Seek peaceful sanctuary in Bartley Lodge’s tranquil eight acres, at the centre of which is the magnificent 18th century, Grade II lodge itself.

New Year’s Eve here is something rather special; the cellars will be stocked and the house beautifully dressed – all we need is the guests.

Arrive for your two or three night stay on December 30th, and take time to unpack and relax over the afternoon – there’s homemade cake and a cuppa if you need it.

In the evening, feast on a locally sourced, seasonal three-course dinner. Then you have three options – take your favourite tipple into the lounge, join the popular evening quiz or hit the hay – you have a busy day ahead, after all.

New Year’s Eve begins with a cracking brekkie, before the chance to join the ‘famous’ treasure hunt drive – a great opportunity to discover some of the New Forest’s undiscovered delights.
On your return, afternoon hot drinks and treats are then served in the lounge so you can warm up and relax before the big event. It’s on with the glad rags before sparkling wine, canapés and a four-course feast. After welcoming in the New Year, dance til dawn (well, 1ish anyway) or head back for a restful sleep.

On New Year’s Day, you may be heading home, but if you’ve booked an extra night, grab another dose of fresh forest air, before an afternoon’s relaxing in front of the telly, followed by a selection of hot and cold dishes from the chef’s table. After [another] great breakfast on January 2nd, it’s time to bid farewell to Bartley Lodge – until the next time…

Join the ‘Inn’ crowd

Beautiful Beaulieu is wonderful any time of the year, but at Christmas it comes into its own. Join us at Beaulieu Inn for a New Year’s Eve stay that’s magical and memorable.

Arrive the day before New Year’s Eve to get settled in and properly relaxed before the celebrations really kick off. Unpack, unwind and enjoy a slice of cake and a cup of tea; mingle with the other guests, or simply enjoy the surroundings with a good book.

The evening meal is one of our famous seasonal and locally sourced three-course dinners – followed by a nightcap or our famous evening quiz. The choice is yours. New Year’s Eve can be as busy or laid back as you wish – breakfast followed by our ‘famous’ treasure hunt drive, simply wander the grounds, pop into Beaulieu itself or just enjoy the Inn.

Warm up with afternoon tea and treats, then it’s on with the posh frocks for fizz and a four-course feast. Then pull on your dancing shoes, welcome in 2023 before retiring for a wonderful night’s sleep.

Breakfast is served later than usual on New Year’s Day, you’ll be glad to hear – and if you’re not leaving us just yet, take in some more of the sights and sounds of the forest, breathe in that crisp air and start 2023 the right way.

Rest and rejuvenate over afternoon scones and Christmas TV, before hot and cold delights from the chef’s table.

On January 2nd, it’s sadly time to go, but you’ll leave with a full belly after another hearty breakfast, and a head full of memories – until the next time.
