Festive Forest

Lyndhurst

Just minutes from Lyndhurst, capital of the New Forest, Forest Lodge is the perfect winter escape – intimate, cosy with a focus on the simple pleasures, New Year’s Eve here is a wonderful blend of cocktails, dancing and dining.

Of course, this time of year is when you reset, revive and rejuvenate too, so there’s plenty of time to wander into the nearby forest or simply squirrel away in an armchair with a good book.
Arrive on December 30th and, after unpacking, there’s tea and cake to help you start to unwind.

That evening, enjoy a locally sourced, seasonal three-course dinner created by the talented kitchen brigade. Afterwards, take your favourite tipple into the lounge, join our evening quiz or hit the hay for a busy stay ahead. New Year’s Eve starts with a hearty breakfast before you head out into the forest for our ‘famous’ treasure hunt drive. After afternoon hot drinks and treats in the lounge, you’ve plenty of time to get your glad rags on before the evening’s shenanigans – canapés and fizz, a four-course feast, dancing – and eventually bed.

Welcome in 2023 with a late breakfast before heading home at your leisure. If you’re staying another night, take in some life-restoring forest air, enjoy freshly prepared scones over some Christmas TV and then a relaxed evening meal of cold and hot dishes from the chef’s table. On January 2nd, it’ll be finally time to bid a sad farewell to your home from home – but not after another great breakfast, of course!

New Year’s Eve starts with breakfast (of course), before the chance to explore the New Forest- whether that’s cycling, walking or running. The evening’s festivities begin with chilled champagne and canapés before indulging in a six-course feast in our charming barn. Yes – six courses…Then there’s dancing (if you wish) before welcoming in 2023 with the chimes of Big Ben.

New Year’s Eve begins with a cracking brekkie, before the chance to join the ‘famous’ treasure hunt drive – a great opportunity to discover some of the New Forest’s undiscovered delights.
On your return, afternoon hot drinks and treats are then served in the lounge so you can warm up and relax before the big event. It’s on with the glad rags before sparkling wine, canapés and a four-course feast. After welcoming in the New Year, dance til dawn (well, 1ish anyway) or head back for a restful sleep.

On New Year’s Day, you may be heading home, but if you’ve booked an extra night, grab another dose of fresh forest air, before an afternoon’s relaxing in front of the telly, followed by a selection of hot and cold dishes from the chef’s table.
