Sunnyfields Farm
With October now in full swing and the season’s palette truly echoing amongst the heathland, it can only mean one thing. Pumpkin time at Sunnyfields Farm!
Located just around the corner from New Forest Collection, Sunnyfields is a family-run farm by husband-and-wife Ian and Louise Nelson and their son Tom. Beginning with organic vegetables in 1990, they now run large-scale seasonal events and a farm shop alongside their traditional farm. Similar to many of New Forest Collection’s partners, Sunnyfields Farm are passionate about the environment and community education. They aim to reconnect people with the environment through meaningful experiences.
Sunnyfields began Pumpkin Time in 2020, where they welcomed hundreds of locals, families and Halloween enthusiasts through their doors to experience the very best of a New Forest Halloween. Imagine a sea of orange, ginormous pumpkins and Instagram-worthy displays. Over the past two years, Pumpkin Time has grown in popularity, inspiring the farm to begin Sunflower Time during the summer months.
This year, wander through the corn-lined archway before being welcomed by a large Paddington Bear, sculpted from pumpkins, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II. Take a nosy through the large crates of pumpkins, admire the spooky displays and be sure to stop by their food trucks for delicious Halloween-inspired snacks.
Perfect for little and not-so-little ones as well as furry friends, Sunnyfields is a great day out for the whole family. Before heading home, be sure to purchase a pumpkin carving kit, so you can be sure your pumpkin lanterns will be the best in town.
