Spooky season is around the corner and with the forest exploding with fireworks of oranges, honeys and deep moss greens, there is no better time to visit the New Forest.

Throughout October there are a whole host of activities, perfect for the whole family to kick start the season. Whether you’re a Halloween thrill seeker or simply interested in the cute pumpkin decor, we’ve compiled our top 10 Halloween experiences, activities and days out to lift your spirits, just take a look below.

Exbury Gardens

Running from the 23rd to 29th October, Exbury Gardens are unleashing their Ghost Train. A supernatural cargo of ghosts and ghouls have made their home in the eerie woodlands. Journey on the haunting express and join the quest to stamp out the Exbury ghosts for once and for all.

Sunnyfields Farm

Pumpkin Time returns for another year at the spectacular and spooky Sunnyfields Farm. Immerse yourself in marvellous displays of misshapen and extra-large displays. Pick from the patch with over 1000 pumpkins to choose from. Not forgetting the fantastic photo opportunities dotted around the farm.

Paultons Park

It’s a spooktacular Halloween at Paultons Park. With the park dressed to impress, make sure to stop by the Legend of Paultons Manor show, an all-singing and dancing extravaganza. Not forgetting The Fairy Garden, dressed with webs and pumpkins for a truly magical experience. On the 24th, 25th and 26th the park will be open until 7:30pm.

Lepe Country Park

Can you help find the ingredients to Willow the Witch’s potion? Collect your map from the Visitors Services Desk in The Lookout and journey through Lepe Country Park on their Halloween Trail. But be aware for creepy critters. The trail runs from the 23rd to 29th October.

New Forest Activities Spooky Halloween River Tour

Learn the stories and history of the resident Beaulieu ghosts on New Forest Activities Spooky Halloween River Tour. That’s if you’re brave enough of course. Paddle the river’s dark waters by moonlight and come dressed to impress in your spookiest Halloween costumes. After hearing of the ghoulish ghost tails enjoy hot chocolate and Halloween candy.

Calshot Castle

From the 27th to 29th October, why not join Calshot Castle for some haunting Halloween fun. With almost 500 years of history, you’ll be mingling with the ghosts and ghouls, so don’t forget your costume. Traverse the pumpkin trail, listen to spooky stories and play some ghoulish games.
