Dog Friendly Walks in the New Forest

With the colder months on our tail and the heathland preparing its winter coat, we’ve gathered some of our favourite doggy-friendly walks to explore this coming season.

Beaulieu to Bucklers Hard

This 4 mile round trip follows an easy terrain along the beautiful River Beaulieu. Forming part of the Solent Way and passing through picturesque villages, grassland, woodland and salt marshes there are plenty of new and exciting smells for your furry friend to explore.

Burley Village Walk

Beginning at Burley Village Bus Stop, this 4.2 mile walk includes a gentle uphill climb, passing through an ancient hill fort open forest. From here you will see beautiful views of the heathland below. Please ensure your doggo is kept on a lead when inside the cattle grids.

Bolderwood Radnor Trail

A simple route passing through Chestnut, Oak and Beech trees dating back to the 17th century. This 1.9 mile route is perfect for a light stretch with your pooches. The trail concludes at a Deer Viewing platform where you can often see a herd of deer fellow. Be mindful to keep your dogs on a short lead when nearing the sanctuary.

For more dog-friendly trails, we highly recommend visitng All Trails. They are the experts in all things New Forest Dog-Friendly walks and have selected over 33 diverse routes with varying degrees of difficulty for you to explore.
