Garden centres

Sometimes there’s no better way to spend a sunny day than to explore a garden centre, either imagining your dream garden or feeling inspired to create some green-fingered magic of your own.

Otter Nurseries of Lymington on the A337 features a large seasonal selection of trees, shrubs and bedding plants, a broad range of gardening products and accessories. In addition to its friendly and knowledgeable team, this garden centre in Lymington has free car parking, a relaxed atmosphere and a cosy coffee shop with a great reputation.

Mole Country Store is on the edge of the New Forest and has a selection of essentials including timber and fencing, animal and garden supplies. Additional products include gardening and outdoor clothing and footwear as well as a specific equestrian area.

Everton Nurseries is a popular family business dating back to 1922, with an onsite coffee shop and restaurant. It boasts a range of plants, many of which are home produced and grown in the nursery. Everton supplies stock to other nurseries, garden centres and landscape contractors in the area.

Folium and Flos Plants Ltd is situated in the heart of the New Forest and in addition to selling products to the general public, it’s also a wholesale plant nursery that assists garden designers, landscapers and garden centres.

Another great find is Shallowmead Nurseries situated on the edge of the New Forest. It’s a family run, independent nursery with a wide range of high quality plants, perfect for the local soil and climate – but from our research it seems most worthwhile to visit for its incredibly popular restaurant and farm shop on-site, which features an abundance of local produce and tasty treats.

New Forest Cycle Hire

Bike Shops

When you’re visiting Lymington in the New Forest one main activity springs to mind; spending quality time in the great outdoors. We highly recommended bringing a bike – but if you haven’t got your own, we would suggest hiring one. Whether you’re a whizz on the trails or a first-time rider, pop into one of these popular bike shops in Lymington and you’ll be well on your way.

New Forest Bikes on Quay street is the ideal bike shop if you’re looking to hire a bike and need advice on the type that best suits you and your needs whilst visiting Lymington. If it’s electric bikes you’re after, then it’s Sway Cycles you’ll want. Figgures Cycles is a family-owned independent bicycle shop established in 1904. Not only a shop though; it’s surrounded by over 100 miles of waymarked forest trails and coastal paths and is right near the infamous Buckland Rings dirt jumps; these are definitely worth a visit. Bicycle Jack’s was started by can you guess? Yes, Jack – who learned to ride a bike at the age of three and since then oozes passion for all things bikes and has over 10 years’ experience in the cycle industry.

Dog In The New Forest

Pet Shops

Bringing your furry friend on vacation? Of course you are, as no family trip would be complete without them, not to mention the New Forest being the ideal place for your four-legged friends.

While you’re away, if you find yourself out of food, in need of a new ball or cuddly toy or, god forbid, you’ve left the treats at home, then don’t panic: simply pop into one of these handy pet shops in Lymington.

Most Lymington pet owners know and love Karen’s Pet Market ideal for pet food, toys and accessories. You’ll find it on St Thomas Street. Everything Pets in Hordle Lymington is another option – whether you’re welcoming a new family pet, have run out of the essentials or want to treat yours on holiday. Want to know the best part?
