Half Term Hacks

As the little one’s take some much-needed time off on a school break and the season’s lighter and brighter days adding an extra spring in everyone’s step, there’s s no better time to adventure through the New Forest. With excited bodies in mind, we have put together a list of must-stop shops to visit this  half term.

Outdoor Adventures

Where waggy tails and walking boots go hand in hand, run, cycle, walk or paddle the untouched and harmonious New Forest landscape. Rich in mysterious and mythical tails, trail to the top of Bolton’s Bench in Lyndhurst and visit the resting place of the Bisterne Dragon or tour through the witching village of Burley, the home of Britain’s most famous witch, Sybil Leek.

Look high and look low as you never know what you may see; an insect trail, our friendly giants rustling in the wind or even a nosy pony, and why not try forest bathing whilst you’re there? A Japanese process of relaxation which encourages those to be calm and quiet amongst the trees to encourage destressing, and boost health and wellbeing.

For the young Robinson Crusoe’s or Indianna Jones’ in the family don’t we have a treat for you? Marwell Zoo have a jam-packed schedule of half term activities for the whole family. Giraffes, Zebras, Penguins, Cheetahs and so many more majestic creatures just on our doorstep. For the thrill-seekers, the Spidermen or Wonder Woman amongst you, how about a day at Paulton’s Park and the famous Peppa Pig World? Twirly whirly upside down, pack lots of water and avoid chocolatey treats. Finally, we have the beautiful Furzey Gardens, the perfect day for fairy lovers. Remember your wings and wands as the magic fairy dust is in full supply here, plus if you’ve booked your New Forest break direct with us, enjoy two for one entry. Simply take your booking confirmation to their entrance and the mystical and magical awaits.

The Times recently spotlighted the town within their ‘The 6 seaside towns everyone’s going to be talking about this summer.’  Besides the gorgeous sandy beach itself, notable attractions include Bournemouth Pier’s indoor arcade full of all family favourite and of course their PierZip, Mr Mulligans mini golf and the finest seafront fish and chips you ever did taste. So, be sure to pack your bucket and spade when planning a visit to the New Forest!
