Something for everyone

If you fancy doing something at Halloween that’s a bit different from trick or treating, then how about Pumpkin Shooting at New Forest Activities on October 23rd? No, we’re not sure what it entails either, but it sounds like lots of fun!

If you’re a car enthusiast, then make a date in your diary for The New Forest VW Run which returns for its seventh year at the end of November, You can book to either take part or simply spectate; all tickets include entrance to the rest of the Beaulieu attraction, including the National Motor Museum – subject to social distancing measures.The best time to view the vehicles on display is from 9.30am to 2pm.

December in Beaulieu not only means Christmas but the fabulous Artisan Collective Fair – everything from delicious artisan food and drink to seasonal gifts, plus gourmet street food and live music.

For different events at Beaulieu, you could also have a go at the Christmas Canoe Paddle at New Forest Activities. It’s a 90-minute guided tour of the river’s beautiful nature reserve, with the river offering up some of its more stunning sights. You’ll be travelling in Canadian-style canoes – with the added bonus of meeting Santa, as well as some toasty hot chocolate…

Lymington Market fills Lymington High Street every Saturday, with over 100 stalls selling plants, food produce, general household goods, craft items and bric-a-brac. Well worth a visit to pick up a bargain or just have a good mooch.
