A New Forest Half-Term

The first school holiday of the year is almost upon us and we can’t wait to be joined by many of you for a little family fun! Across the New Forest there’s plenty of fun to be had by little ones, teenagers and even the older ones too, here’s our guide to a February half-term the whole family can enjoy.

Beaulieu Motor Museum – Get hands-on and experience a touch of luxury at Beaulieu this February half-term. Inspired by the National Motor Museum’s dazzling new display, The Luxury of Motoring, Beaulieu are inviting all of their visitors to enjoy a taste of the finer things in life this half-term (from 10th – 18th February). You’ll get the chance to discover what life was like for those at the top, then peek ‘below the stairs’ to see how their chauffeurs, maids and cooks lived. Don’t forget to pick up your Hands-On Half-Term Pass Book and collect a stamp from each of the activity stations.

Paultons Park – Re-opening on 17th February and a must for the whole family this February half-term is Paultons Park. With a wide variety of rides and attractions, including ‘Lost Kingdom’, an extraordinary Jurassic World, home to a selection of larger than life dinosaurs and world-class rollercoasters, as well as classic rides such as The Cobra and Cat-O-Pillar Coaster, there’s plenty for guests of all ages. For the littles ones, a visit to Pepper Pig World is the way to make their day! They’ll get the chance to meet Pepper and all of her friends too.

Longdown Activity Farm – Re-opening just in time for half-term, there’s plenty of farmyard fun for the whole family at Longdown Activity Farm. You’ll get to enjoy getting hands on with the daily activities including bottle-feeding kid goats and calves, duck feeding, and The Animal Encounter Barn where you can meet lots of friendly animals including donkeys, alpacas, cute chicks, pygmy goats, cows and more! Explore in and around the farmyard buildings and find lots of fabulous indoor and outdoor play equipment. Don’t miss the brilliant and bumpy tractor and trailer ride, which is free of charge.

Beaulieu River Winter Kayaking – For those with kids a little older, enjoy the great outdoors this winter and choose from either the open-top Canadian canoes or stable touring kayaks and enjoy a 2 hour paddle of the Beaulieu River. You may need to layer up and pack yourself a flask of hot chocolate to keep you warm along the paddle, but there really is nothing quite like exploring the river’s beautiful nature reserve on a crisp winters day.

Lymington Farmer’s Market – A lively Saturday market that fills Lymington High-street every weekend with lots of local stalls selling plants, food produce, hand-crafted goods and more! After spending some time perusing the market, enjoy a spot of lunch in one of the many cafes, restaurants and lounges Lymington is home to.
