Christmas Season

What’s on this Christmas

May, 2019

We know it’s a little early to be thinking about Christmas, especially as the spring sunshine has only just arrived, but when planning a Christmas getaway it’s always best to book in advance and take advantage of our exclusive early bird offer, saving you up to 15% off your Christmas break! Before you make your decision on where to stay, take a look at what’s going on here in the New Forest:

Head to Paulton’s Park during the festive season and the kids can enjoy meeting Santa in his magical Grotto and many of his animal friends as they all get ready for Christmas Eve. For the little ones, Peppa Pig World is transformed into a magical festive setting with a selection of rides and attractions open across the park including the amazing musical Christmas tree!

Make your family’s Christmas magical and join Marwell Zoo for their enchanted Christmas with new exciting additions to this year’s festivities. Begin your enchanted experience in their magical winter forest and enjoy some festive refreshments, be charmed by Mother Christmas as she reads The Nutcracker in the fairy glen, create your very own Christmas Eve plate in the elves workshop and finally, meet Father Christmas himself and receive a wonderful gift before posing for that all-important family photo.

One of the best ways to celebrate the festive season is heading to Southampton’s traditional German Market, with unique, individually designed alpine chalets with traditional German fayre, from bratwurst and waffles to gingerbread and candied fruit there is plenty of foodie treats to try! With over 40 independent stallholders selling a range of authentic gifts such as wooden toys, homemade soaps, homeware, jewellery and Christmas decorations, you’ll get the chance to finish off your Christmas shopping. Children will also get the chance to see ‘Flying Santa’ who takes to the sky over the city centre twice a day. Afterwards, they can accompany him to the life-size advent calendar and will hand out treats to the children.

Lastly, one of our favourite places to visit year after year is Beaulieu Motor Museum to enjoy Christmas crafts, carol singing around the log fire, and witness one of the largest Christmas trees with 15,000 lights! It’s a truly wonderful place to go with the kids to really feel the warmth of the Christmas spirit. Want to know what else they’ll have going on this year? You can sign up to their Newsletter and they’ll keep you updated.

Once you’ve finished your day of adventure, retreat back to us for a relaxing family evening together in one of our cosy lounges with roaring fires and Christmas treats!
