Traditional Afternoon Tea

July, 2017

Here at Bartley Lodge we have taken inspiration from the traditional afternoon tea that was introduced in 1840 by Anna, the seventh duchess of Bedford. Featuring a selection of traditional sandwiches and delicious tea fancies accompanied by freshly baked scones with clotted cream, strawberry preserve. Served with your choice of speciality tea or coffee.

The selection of sandwiches you can find on our menu are hand-crafted by our chefs and filled with the finest, local ingredients, including ham and Dijon mustard; cheddar and pickle; egg mayonnaise and cress; smoked salmon and cream cheese. All of our sandwiches have been chosen to complement the sweet treats including a strawberry and cream macaroon and Eton mess tower.

Our home-baked scones are fluffy in texture and oh so tasty. Served with clotted cream and strawberry jam – Indulge, enjoy and delight in this scrumptious tradition with friends and family.

Celebrating a special occasion? Or just fancy some bubbles? Then add a glass of fizz from £6.50. Or make it a summer fiesta with a glass of Pimms for £4.00 – Cheers!
