The Village of Brockenhurst
When joining us here in the New Forest, exploring is often at the top of the agenda for visitors. With that in mind we’d highly recommend visiting the village of Brockenhurst during your stay. It has been officially declared as ‘Britain’s most beautiful place to live’ and it’s filled with bundles of charm and history – A must see for all those visiting the New Forest.
The area is home to our famous neighbouring animals including ponies, deer, donkeys and cows – all of which are known to be roaming through the street and popping their heads through shop doorways.
The countryside surrounding the main village is spectacular with the famous beauty spot, Whitfield Moor. This is a great location for sporting games and letting the kids run off some steam. There is also a marked walk here known as the Ober Water Trail where you’ll find a mixture of gravelled & grass paths through a truly beautiful and serene part of the woodlands along the water stream. If relaxing is something you’d prefer to do, then grab your picnic hamper and blanket and head down for a relaxing afternoon on the Whitfield Moor to indulge in sandwiches and sunshine!
There’s plenty to do in Brockenhurst from walking and cycling to golf and the annual summer New Forest Show – A must for the ultimate New Forest day out! In the village, you can find the local farm shop and butchers as well as independent cafes, stores and a vineyard.
After you’ve finished spending the day exploring there are plenty of warm and inviting pubs at your fingertips where you can enjoy local dishes and drinks.
