Where To Take Your Dog on a New Forest Holiday

December, 2016

There is nothing we love more than greeting yourselves and your four-legged friends, whether you’ve come to stay with us for a break away or simply joining us for a re-fuel on a ramble through the New Forest.

If you are bringing your dog along with you, here are some dog welcoming attractions, pubs and more!

Our sister pub, The Drift Inn is situated in Beaulieu where wellies, walking boots and dogs are always welcome. It is the perfect pit-stop after a walk through the surrounding heathlands to enjoy traditional pub classics crafted by our chefs with locally sourced produce. There are also complimentary dog treats, towels and water at the ready, so they can feel at home too!

As for attractions, there are many across the New Forest that welcome dogs (as long as they are on a short lead) including: Exbury Gardens, Braxton Gardens, Breamore House, Highlife Castle, Lepe Country Park, Macpennys, Moors Valley Country Park, New Forest Centre and the Reptile Centre.

If you fancy heading out for a beach walk to watch the sun-set or sample the local fish and chips then you can do that too with Barton-on-Sea, Hengistbury Head, Highcliffe and Milford on Sea beaches all welcoming your furry friends.

If you fancy taking your pooch for a spot of shopping then we recommend Lymington High Street on a Saturday when their farmers market takes place. And you’ll find a lot of the shops and cafes are more than happy to accommodate for your dog too. Alternatively, Lyndhurst high street is another doggy favourite – as long as your pup is on a lead and under control they can go in!

And of course dogs are welcome all across the New Forest heathlands, woodlands, forests and open green – where they don’t have to be on a lead if they’re well behaved and you keep your eye on them.
