Remember, remember the fifth of November…. In 1605 Guy Fawkes had a secret plan to overthrow the king with his Gunpowder Plot, on the very night the plan was foiled, bonfires were set alight to celebrate the safety of the King. Since then, November 5th has become known as Bonfire Night. Throughout Britain the event is commemorated every year with bonfires and fireworks.

We have rounded together all the on-goings in and around the New Forest for you to join the fun…

 

Avon TyrellWrap up warm on Saturday 4th November and spend the evening by the bonfire, where the Guy Fawkes Guides will keep you entertained with stories, songs, games and challenges. Enjoy a hot chocolate, toast marshmallows and wave your sparklers – this is a great family event, especially for the younger ones. Pre-booking is essential.

 

The Exbury ClubThe annual Exbury Club Bonfire Night celebrations are fun for all the family. Taking place on Saturday 4th November, this year, there will be small rides for the little ones, a BBQ, hot drinks, sweet treats including scrumptious doughnuts and candy floss, face painting, bouncy castle, plus bring along your very own Guy Fawkes – The best will be chosen to take prime position on top of the bonfire! No need to book in advance, simply turn up and pay at the gate!

 

Carvers Playing Field, RingwoodRingwood’s Bonfire and Fireworks display for 2017 will take place on 5th November – There will be food stalls including a hog roast, beer tent and small fairground rides, so there is plenty on offer for the whole family! You can either book in advance or pay on the gate for £2.

 

Mayflower Park, SouthamptonHead to Mayflower park in Southampton on 4th November and see the skies above the city light up with colourful fireworks. As well as a fantastic display of fireworks you can enjoy a number of fairground rides and delicious food outlets.
