Wine Tasting events at New Forest Hotels
Mon 10 October 2011
Guests were greeted to the sounds of Chameleon Jazz Duet as they wondered around the grand Baronial Hall learning about a selection of wines from our wine list. Who would have thought there was so much to learn about wine: How White Zinfandel is made pink and sweet and how Anna de Codorniu Brut (a delicious sparkling white wine) is made in the same way as champagne but not nearly as expensive!
Our friends, Laura Din from Matthew Clark and Grant Armstrong from Accolade wines were on hand to talk to the guests about which wines worked well with different foods and occasions and share with them anecdotes of the winery’s they have the pleasure of working with.
The classic country hotel was buzzing with the number of guests as people wandered through the hotel to explore the renovations. One lucky winner, Amanda, walked away with a Magnum of Champagne, courtesy of Matthew Clark, and managed to escape without sharing it with anyone!
Fiona Errington, Group Sales and Marketing Manager, commented “The evening went with a real swing. The guests all seemed gobsmacked with the new look of the hotel and so many people remarked they would be back soon to have dinner”.
The Daily Echo came and took some great
snaps of the night - take a look and see if there is anyone you recognise!
This was our forth wine tasting event this year and the next event is being held on
Thursday 10th November at our
Best Western Forest Lodge Hotel. This next event will give guests the opportunity to take a step down under and enjoy Australian wines for the evening as well as a mouth-watering three-course dinner in the award-winning
Glasshouse Restaurant.
Tickets are just £35 each and can be booked by calling 0800 44 44 41.
