Children will adore Marwell Wildlife near Winchester. This Hampshire park allows visitors to get close to hundreds of animals from across the world. New Forest Wildlife Park, in Ashurst, works hard to conserve animals native to the UK, including otters, owls and deer, and is a great day out.
If your children are looking for exciting rides then whisk them over to Paultons Park in Romsey or Adventure Wonderland in Christchurch for a day of exhiliration. Gardening enthusiasts must visit Exbury Gardens with its world-famous collection of azaleas, rhododendrons and rare trees. Furzey Gardens in Lyndhurst also has an extensive plant collection and offers visitors the chance to learn the art of thatching.
The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu is a fascinating day out for all age groups, featuring more than 250 cars and motorcycles from the past 100 years. And don't forget that there are markets at locations across the forest every weekend including Lymington, where ferries regularly depart for the Isle of Wight.
