"Thank you, thank you, thank you for making our wedding dreams come true. I stayed the night of the 22.09.11 in our bridal suite, and my Husband and I stayed the night of our wedding on the 23rd Sept 2011. Alex and her team welcomed us into the Moorhill House Hotel as though we were old friends, everything we wanted we got from moving the furniture in the small waiting area to enable us to walk out of the wedding ceremony room straight into the beautiful gardens without having to squeeze past furniture (which under normal circumstances is not in the way but with a big wedding dress and a long train was a bit of a squeeze) to spending time the night before our wedding going through where everything will be, how we will be seated, the process of the day, a walk through and more.
I tried smuggling our honeymoon 4 poster bed out the room but it just wouldnt fit in the car, it was the most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in. The chef did the most amazing wedding breakfast, so many of our guests comlimented us on our choice of menu (in fact it was the standard wedding breakfast menu but they didnt know this!). The receptionists, bar staff, waitresses and waiters are all professional and most importantly friendly, helpful and were genuiningly glad to be part of our very special day.
We had more compliments on choosing such a beautiful hotel than I can remember. Everyone was happy includig my father who is a very hard man to please. So Alex, thank you for everything you and your team did, you went so far out of your way to make our day special you will never know how impressed, happy and pleased we are with the service we received from the Moorhill House Hotel. We will come back each year on our wedding anniversairy for dinner, bed and breakfast and some of our guests have decided to pay you a visit in the not too near future." Mary & Glen Carter - September 2011
"Organising a group weekend away is always a worry but I've had nothing but glowing feedback from the 50 members of the Essex Group of the TR Register who've just got home after an absolutely cracking weekend. Making and keeping 50 people happy is no mean achievement, but Alex O'Neil and her staff did just that, nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were attentive, courteous and with the right amount of humour. Accomodation, food, service all spot on, and great value for money. We're already talking about when we can make a return visit." Andy Dimbleby - June 2011
"We would like to pass on our thanks and praise to all your staff and especially your Manager Alex, for the care and service we received on Saturday 4th June when our daughter Louisa married Matthew at your lovely hotel. Alex was there every step of the way to make our daughters day a very special day. Your staff were always smiling and curtious. We especially liked the special touches such as the heart shape that the champagne classes were set out in. These little details we would not have thought of seemed to be just done.
Our compliments to the chef and all his staff, we had many compliments on the high standard of the food at the wedding breakfast from our guests. The surroundings were beautiful, and the setting quiet and very personal. Once again a big thank you to Alex and all her staff who helped make our daughters wedding day very special indeed. We would not hesitate to recommend your hotel for a wedding venue. Thank you so much." Wendy & Pete Davis - June 2011
"We have just enjoyed a 2 night break - our first visit to Moorhill House, having stayed at the Beaulieu several times. Our expectations were exceeded - extremely clean, comfortable rooms and food better than in many five star hotels. All the staff went out of their way to be helpful - can't wait to come back!" Pam Jones - February 2011
"Thank you for a splendid new year party and fun events throughout our 2 night stay. We had a very memorable time and look forward to returning again." Carole Chase - December 2010
"This hotel is not much to look at from outside, but don't be put off by this, inside it has been tastefully modernized and updated. On arrival staff were very welcoming and helpful, our room was very tastefully decorated with a large en- suite bathroom. We were very impressed with the overall cleanliness of the hotel. Being a beautiful weekend we were able to make the most of the wonderful gardens and sat outside for an early evening glass of wine. Burley is a very quaint place and lots of friendly people, the walks around the area are wonderful. Dinner in the hotel was excellent, the food was so well presented and tasted as good as it looked. It was nice to find out that a lot of the produce used was sourced locally. Staff in the dinning room were equally friendly and attentive to our needs without being to over the top. We would all certainly go back again. " Ron Thomas - August 2010
"This hotel in Burley is down a half mile private road/drive with immediate access to fantastic walks and soooo peaceful, just the noise of the ponies going by first thing in the morning and the cows in the nearby fields – what more could you ask for. My elderly parents, my dog and I have just returned from a very impressive 4 day break. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful, with nothing too much trouble; everything is done with a smile. The bedrooms were fitted out to a high standard with new bathrooms, great bedding. This is an old house and the windows are small which does restrict the views, which are beautiful. The breakfast was excellent quality. The chefs were outstanding. The value for money was good. You get an allowance of £21 per night for dinner and you are free to choose whatever you like. It is possible to have 3 courses or a gourmet 2 course meal within that. The whole experience left us feeling like we had experienced a great treat." Pat Long - June 2010
