Our Verderer bedrooms are named after the Verderers who protect the Commoners interests and who employ the Agisters to look after the animals of the forest.
There are ten Verderers and to qualify as a candidate to be a Verderer you must own one acre of land which has rights of pasture over the New Forest attached. The Official Verderer is appointed by the Crown. Verderers serve for varying amounts of time and have immense knowledge and indisputable commitment to the New Forest. The skills and expertise that they have are a great strength to the Verderer’s Court.
Our Moorhill House Verderer rooms are our larger bedrooms with all the amenities of an Agister Room set in a more spacious environment with flat screen televisions including free view channels, ironing board and iron, complimentary toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities.
