Classic country – Bartley Lodge Hotel.
Our hotel in Cadnam, Bartley Lodge has a classic country feel to it. Tucked away at the end of a meandering drive this Grade II listed hotel will feel like a much-loved second home from the moment you walk in the entrance.Pause for a moment in front of the fire in the gallery lounge. It is a great spot to relax and take in the warmth of this hotel. It was originally built as a New Forest hunting lodge and, as with all our hotels, you can still feel the forest's strong influence throughout, from the meals created using local produce to the inviting bedrooms that overlook the acres of grounds.
Bartley Lodge Hotel is also well known to historians as it was once the home of the famous geologist Charles Lyell, a man who not only changed the way the world viewed the formation of the Earth, but was also an influential friend of Charles Darwin. It is also rumored that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the infamous author of Sherlock Holmes, spent some time at Bartley Lodge whilst writing his novels. His grave stone can be found in church yard in nearby Minstead.
Forest retreat – Beaulieu Hotel

A minute's walk from the capital of the New Forest is our contemporary town hotel, BEST WESTERN Forest Lodge. This modern boutique hotel in Lyndhurst oozes style and decadence from the minute you arrive.
Take a moment in the chic Forest bar to look through the doors onto the decked terrace. Imagine having a long drink here with friends before enjoying an evening meal in the award-winning Glasshouse restaurant. This Lyndhurst hotel was originally a dower house of the Northerwood Estate and its links to the national park are still strongly felt from the use of fresh, local produce to the forest mural in the tranquil swimming pool.
Village hideaway – Moorhill House Hotel
Our village hideaway in Burley, Moorhill House Hotel is hidden at the end of a long drive which winds through sun-dappled woodland. From the moment you arrive at the hotel you will enjoy the peaceful atmosphere that comes from being tucked away in the woods.
Relax for a while in the lounge overlooking the gardens with their direct access to the woods. This Burley hotel has a traditional English lawn for guests to play croquet and badminton on, enjoy a glass of Pimms whilst watching the last game of the day in the hotel's beautiful gardens. In keeping with the other New Forest Hotels, Moorhill House Hotel has close links with the New Forest from the local ingredients used in the restaurant's menu to the stunning forest views from the bedrooms' windows.
