FAQ's

In order to help you with any questions you may have about our hotels or about the New Forest we have put together a number of frequently asked questions that we are often asked by guests.


Are dog’s allowed to stay in any of your hotels?
Yes, all four of our hotels allow dogs to stay for just £10.00 per dog per night. Just mention that you would like to bring your four-legged friend when you make your booking. Dogs are allowed in the communal areas of the hotels apart from the restaurants (unless they are guide dogs). Visit our dog friendly pages to find out more.

I understand that there is a dinner allowance when staying on a dinner, bed and breakfast package at your hotels, how does this work?
Each guest staying with us on a package, which includes dinner, is given a dinner allowance of £25 per night. However, should you wish to spend more than this it is not a problem we will simply add the charge to your room.

Can non-residents join us for dinner?
All four of our New Forest Hotels are open to non-residents to dining and we are more than happy to accommodate friends or family that wish to join you. If you let us know in advance we can make sure we get you the best table possible.

Do all of your family rooms have bunk beds?
Our family rooms either contain bunk beds, an additional single bed or a sofa bed.  We also have other larger bedrooms which can accommodate families with the addition of a cot or a z-bed.

Do you have joining bedrooms?
None of our bedrooms are inter-joined but should you wish to be next door to other members of your party you can request this at booking stage and we will do our best to accommodate this.

Do you have a lift in any of your hotels?
Both our Beaulieu Hotel and Bartley Lodge Hotels have lifts.  However all four of our hotels have accessible bedrooms, wider entrances and doorways in order to accommodate wheelchairs and accessible amenities for your comfort.

What are the attractions in the area?
Attractions nearby to our hotels include Beaulieu Motor Museum, Bucklers Hard, Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World, Exbury Gardens, New Forest Wildlife Park, and Adventure Wonderland . For ideas on activities and attractions to visit during your time with us check out our activities and attractions pages, ask the reservations team when you make your booking, read through our visitor information folder when you arrive or have a chat to reception.

How many accessible rooms do you have?
We have an accessible bedroom designed for your comfort and convenience in all four of our hotels and with the lifts at Beaulieu Hotel and Bartley Lodge Hotel there is a greater choice of rooms for your to stay in.

Is there a time the front doors close?
The front doors of the hotels get locked at 11.00pm, however if you are going to arrive late we can make arrangements to accommodate this.  For those guests who wish to return to the hotel after 11.00pm we can arrange for you to have a key to the front door, just ask reception before you go out.

Do you have a designated smoking area?
All of our hotels are non-smoking throughout but there are designated smoking areas.  Just ask reception and they will point you in the direction of your nearest area.

Do you have any children’s games?
Our hotels are family friendly, with family rooms, leisure facilities, children’s menus and lots of games! In the summer you can enjoy games in the garden such as giant Jenga at Bartley Lodge Hotel and badminton on the lawn at Moorhill House Hotel or in the winter why not sit in front of the fire playing scrabble!

Do you have sky TV?
All our bedrooms are equipped with flat screen televisions with free-view and our lounge areas have televisions for special occasions, such as the Royal Wedding, The Queen’s Christmas Day speech and the Olympics.  However, we do not have Sky tv.  Should you wish to watch the telvelsion in the lounge and it is not out do ask at reception and they will be happy to help you.

What is the earliest children can eat?
The restaurant is open for dinner between 7.00pm – 9.00pm.  However, bar snacks are served from 5.30pm each evening and lighter snacks, such as sandwiches are served until 11.00pm. If you wish to diner earlier with your children please let reception know so they can arrange an earlier dining time for you with our chefs.

Do you have a children’s menu?
Our award-winning chefs have designed special Ă la carte children’s menus so even the younger members of your group get to enjoy their cooking excellence.

Can adults eat from the bar menu?
If you would prefer to use your £25 dinner allowance on the bar menu rather than the restaurant à la carte menu this is possible between 7.00pm – 9.00pm.

What times are your restaurants open?
Dinner is served in our award-winning restaurants between 7.00pm – 9.00pm daily.

How far are you from the village?
All of our hotels are near a New Forest Village or two.
Bartley Lodge Hotel is just 4 miles away from Lyndhurst while BEST WESTERN Forest Lodge Hotel is situated in Lyndhurst, just a 5 minute stroll from the front door of the hotel to the village centre.  Beaulieu Hotel is situate between Lyndhurst and the charming village of Beaulieu while Moorhill House Hotel is hidden away in the woods of the bewitching village of Burley, just a ten minute walk from the hotel (shorter if you use the short cut by the cider farm – ask reception!!)

Do you have a pool and what are the opening times?
All four of our New Forest Hotels have small leisure pools, with the largest one at BEST WESTERN Forest Lodge Hotel. The pools are open daily from 7.00am  - 10.00pm and require a code to enter which you can get from reception.

Do you have Wifi in your hotels and is it free?
We have wifi in all our hotels and you can gain access for free in most communal areas and from your bedroom. Instructions to log on to our ‘hotel broadband’ can be found in your room folder in your bedroom.

Are there any walks you can recommend?
The New Forest is such a vast area with so many lovely areas to explore it would be impossible for us to recommend just one walk.  However in each hotel we have visitor information folders which can be found at reception.  These contain a number of walks local to the hotel that we can copy for you so you can navigate you way around the forest without getting lost!!

What time is the standard check in and check out time and is there an option of an early check in or late check out?
In all four of our hotels the check in time is 2.00pm, there is an option of an early check in at 12.00pm for a supplement of £20.00. The check out time in all four of our hotels is 11.00am and again there is an option of a late check out at 1.00pm for a supplement of £20.00.
