Hotel Personality

Tucked away at the end of a meandering drive is the elegant classic country Hotel, Bartley Lodge. This Grade II listed hotel in Cadnam will feel like a much-loved second home from the moment you walk in the entrance and are greeted by our friendly team.

Pause for a moment in front of the fire in the gallery lounge. It is a great spot to relax and take in the warmth of this Cadnam hotel. It was originally built as a New Forest hunting lodge and, as with all our hotels, you can still feel the forest's strong influence throughout, from the meals created using local produce to the inviting bedrooms that overlook our grounds.

Our hotel in Cadnam is also well-known by historians. Bartley Lodge Hotel was once the home of the famous geologist Charles Lyell, a man who not only changed the way the world viewed the formation of the Earth, but was also an influential friend of Charles Darwin. It is also rumored that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the infamous author of Sherlock Holmes, spent some time at Bartley Lodge whilst writing his novels. His grave stone can be found in church yard in nearby Minstead.

If you want a taste of New Forest life, then stay with us at Bartley Lodge Hotel. It may be easy to find, but we think you'll find it hard to leave. Visit our breaks and offers page to see if you can take advantage of a great offer on accommodation at Bartley Lodge Hotel.
