Cadnam Village

The New Forest was awarded national park status in 2006 to protect its beautiful landscape and wildlife. To fully appreciate this unique part of England we recommend hiring a bike from our hotel.

In Cadnam itself you'll find a couple of friendly pubs as well as the Cadnam Cricket Club, and if you cycle a bit further you'll discover Furzey Gardens. In this informal garden you can learn how to thatch, play in the treehouses and enjoy the extensive plant collection. If you are inspired to do a spot of gardening following your visit here there is a local garden centre in Cadnam with a vast array of plants for you to take home with you.

Also close to Bartley Lodge Hotel is the Rufus stone, which marks the spot where King William II is said to have been killed by an arrow in 1100 AD, and Lyndhurst with its shops and museum. Minstead Church is not far away and stepped in history with parts of the church being built as far back as 1272.

For those who don’t wish to explore to far from the hotel you may be lucky enough to encounter New Forest ponies or deer on the driveway or in the fields beyond the gardens. They often venture towards the hotel giving you an opportunity to see them up close.
