New Forest Hotels (formerly
known as Care Hotels) was formed during 1988 with the group’s
first country house hotel, The Beaulieu Hotel. This acquisition
was shortly followed by a further two country house hotels, The
Forest Lodge in Lyndhurst and The Moorhill House Hotel in Burley.
With these 3 country house hotels under their wing they set about
a refurbishment plan to upgrade the hotels from 2 star to 3 star.
During March 1989 , New Forest Hotels Plc acquired the flagship
of the group, The Bartley Lodge Hotel at Cadnam. This grade II listed
former hunting lodge was previously the home of Charles Lyell, Darwin’s
mentor.
Throughout the years the company have continued to invest and refurbish bringing the whole group up to AA 3 star standard,
